Member Facilities

Facilities of The Northern Club fulfil the original ideals of the founders, to provide members with a "home away from home" when they can dine, relax or entertain friends in a warms and dignified atmosphere.

Entertaining Rooms and Reading Room

Ground floor entertaining rooms include a magnificent 19th century style bar where members and their guests can enjoy a leisurely drink before dinner, while the reading room provides a quiet, undisturbed atmosphere for members to catch up on the news through daily newspapers, weekly magazines and journals from around the world.
 

Bankside Restaurant

In recent years the Club has undergone a number of improvements including the development of Bankside, a contemporary yet sophisticated bar and restaurant for those who prefer a more modern environment. Exclusively on every Friday evening, Bankside offers live music entertainment with a duet featuring Paddy Dwyer on salsa and contemporary guitar  and Clo Chaperon on vocals, and Peter Doublinzski on classical guitar on alternating weeks.
 

Gym

A new addition to the Club has been development of the gym that provides members with an environment to improve and maintain their fitness.  The club has also invested in personal trainers to ensure that members are provided with the very best direction when using the gym.
 

Guest Rooms

Guest rooms have been renovated to bring them up to the highest standards in private accommodation.  Each room includes private bathrooms and super-king size beds (deluxe rooms) or queen size beds (standard rooms) to provide members with complete luxury.

The Northern Club provides pleasant, inexpensive accommodation within walking distance of the Central Business District, the city's theatres and restaurants for visiting country and reciprocal members.

Our current room rate for a single is $110, $120 and $150 for a deluxe double, including breakfast.  10% surcharge is payable by reciprocal club members.
 

The Wintergarden

Opened in October 2008, the Wintergarden is the Club's latest addition to the members' facilites. The Wintergarden serves as a lounge area for members to use for afternoon coffee or tea, or simply just relax in its splendour and enjoy the Club atmosphere.
